How To Prep Your Skin For A Fresh Tan
Share
Skin preparation is key when it comes to achieving a flawless looking self tan.
This skin prep advice is the preparation you should be doing before your spray tan appointment or applying any Exceptional Tanning Self Tan Mousse.
Smooth prepped skin results in the most perfectly even results every time, hers some tips to ensure you get that perfect tan!
Ensure your skin is hydrated by moisturising daily on the days before and after your Spray Tan Appointment or applying Exceptional Tan Self Tan Mousse. This will help your tan go on beautifully and fade evenly.
Shave/wax the day before your Spray Tan Appointment or applying Exceptional Tan Self Tan Mousse. This will give the skin a chance to settle and leaves you with a smoother surface to apply onto. If you forget to shave leave it until the next day don’t shave right before tanning as the tan will soak into your open pores and leave a “dotty” look in areas. It won’t affect your tan if you shave once it’s fully developed.
Exfoliate off any old tan or dry skin!!
For best results run a hot bath, relax for 20-30 minutes. Soaking in the bath for this amount of time will give your skin a chance to soften and makes it easier to get old stubborn tan off. Use the 'Scrub' side of your Exceptional Tan Exfoliating Mitt to gently exfoliate any dry skin and any old tan will glide right off your skin leaving it smooth and completely free of old tan.
I don't recommend applying moisturiser right before applying new tan (this can cause a barrier on the skin and your tan won’t take as well as it should) Apply moisturiser all over the body the night before or/and the morning of your appointment/applying self tan . If you find your elbows, knees etc are very dry apply a light layer of moisturizer an hour before applying any tan giving it a chance to completely soak into your skin hydrating the area before your tan application.
